Mission
Advancing career development is in the interest of all counselors working with people across life stages and settings. Illinois Career Development Association (ICDA) seeks to promote the career development of all people over the life span. ICDA was first chartered in 1971. It is a division of the National Career Development Association (NCDA) and a division of the Illinois Counseling Association (ICA). ICDA seeks to establish and improve the standards of professional service and ethics in the field of career development with the "Crucial C" strategies as the following:
Connect: collaboration with ICA divisions, NCDA, and community
Capable: professional development for competent career professionals Count: provision of valuable service for membership recruitment
Courage: promotion of career resilience for the disadvantaged and underserved populations.
Becoming an ICDA Member
Membership in ICDA is open to individuals who have a professional interest in career development and counseling. Benefits of ICDA membership include professional net work, on line resources and interactivity, quarterly news letters, and year round professional development opportunities.
